PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Utilizing a constellation of 66 Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) satellites, Iridium services include worldwide voice, Short Messaging Service (SMS), and data communications. Offering small lightweight handsets and pagers as well as rugged on-board fixed mounted units, Iridium provides solutions for a wide spectrum of users. As part of the MVS Group, a top- level distribution partner for Iridium, I-LINX offers extremely competitive pricing on hardware and airtime rental services.

Iridium offers two unique data services with global coverage:

1. Dial-Up Data Service provides dial-up connectivity from a PC, through the Iridium unit to another computer or server, a corporate network/LAN, or an Internet Service Provider (ISP). This service offers a data rate of 2.4Kbps

2. Direct Internet Service provides connectivity from a PC, through the Iridium unit directly to the Internet. This service utilizes dedicated servers at the Iridium Gateway, which provide transparent compression resulting in a transfer rate up to 10Kbps.

Short Messaging Service (SMS)

Users can receive text messages on the Motorola Satellite Series 9505 satellite phone. Key features include:

Global coverage
Up to 120 alphanumeric characters per message
Messages can be sent via e-mail or via the utility on the iridium.com homepage
Receiving messages is free of charge

Iridium offers two pre-paid solutions for use with Iridium satellite services:

1. Pre-paid SIM service consists of one pre-paid SIM card with one account. Airtime can be purchased in bundles at affordable prices.

2. Crew calling service consists of a SIM card with one post-paid account (for the captain) and any number of pre-paid scratch cards. The post-paid account is protected by an authorization code to ensure that only the captain can access it. Pre-paid scratch cards can then be purchased by the crew and used at will. This option eliminates the hindrance of accounting for crew/workman calls.
