PRODUCT OVERVIEW

LinkStar™ is the highest performance, star-based VSAT system for service providers, ISPs, and corporate network managers who are seeking a system based on DVB standards. LinkStar's edge is in its dynamic bandwidth allocation that makes it more efficient and faster than other TDMA systems. Terminals can transmit data to the network hub at speeds up to 1.15 Mbps, with data downloads of up to 60 Mbps, satisfying bandwidth-intensive applications using IP data.

LinkStar offers several benefits:

The highest return channel rate on the market
Rate-based operation that increases your
data throughput
Guaranteed information rates for each
network location
Lower-cost terminals because fewer hardware
components are needed and volumes increase
as markets expand
DVB standards based for compatibility worldwide

LinkStar can operate over C- or Ku-band frequencies, and is scalable to small or large networks. A Web-based NMS makes it simple to operate and easy to configure.

LinkStar Broadband Applications:

Internet access
Digital media streaming
Video conferencing
Distance education
File transfer
Multicasting
Virtual private networks

Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation, combined with guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) and TCP acceleration features, makes LinkStar more efficient and faster than other TDMA systems.

Bandwidth on Demand (BOD) is ideal for VOIP
applications.
Committed Information Rate (CIR) for Quality of
Service (QoS) applications.
CIR Reallocation offers CIR when the user needs
it, but if it's not used, it becomes available to
the entire network.
Slotted Aloha enables low bandwidth applications
to have immediate access to the network. Ideal
for point-of-sale (POS) and ATMs
